IT'S ALL A BIT FISHY

By Matthew Dunn in the Daily Express showing that those revenue streams are starting to get maximised. Even if it's against other club policies or just Fergie policies.

Roy Keane's infamous prawn sandwiches could soon be replaced by sushi at Old Trafford, with news reaching the Far East that Malcolm Glazer is considering launching an elitist debenture scheme in a bid to raise the cash to pay off the banks behind his takeover of Manchester United.

Financial institutions in Hong Kong are awash with talk of a plan similar to that operated by Twickenham where it is possible to buy a 75-year debenture to give you the guaranteed right to pay even more money to buy the tickets themselves.

It is likely to fill Old Trafford with even more corporate fans, with the turmoil at the club evidently doing little to frighten away sponsors. For instance, Nike took out a full-page advert in Saturday's match programme to promote their Mercurial Vapor ll boot, with its "strategically-placed traction blades for maximum grip" - despite Sir Alex Ferguson's rant when he described them as a "danger" and revealed he had approached Nike to try to
phase them out of the game.

But then you can't trust everything in the matchday magazine. The same issue had a plug for MUTV, promising that fans could "hear the views of Sir Alex, exclusively on MUTV" This despite Fergie's refusal to talk to the club's television station after he came in for criticism during a phone-in after the Villareal game.
