Portugal coach Phil Scolari has denied yesterday's reports that Ronaldo should move to Spain.
'I don't have any explanation on this matter, for what they wrote or didn't write,' Scolari said. 'It doesn't matter - what I say goes in one ear and out the other.'
And as to where Ronaldo plays his club football he said:
'It's not a matter that concerns me,' he said.
Ronaldo has said he was unaware of the reports in yesterday's Sun.
'I don't know anything about it,' he said. When Scolari's reported comments were repeated to him, Ronaldo said: 'He didn't say that. 100%.'
Scolari was quoted as saying:
"The basic education stage of his career is ending and I know Cristiano is ready for a change of atmosphere.
"Barcelona would hugely enjoy having Cristiano in their team because he would complement Ronaldinho perfectly - they have different characteristics.
"For Cristiano, the Barcelona climate would be important - most days are sunny and it's hardly ever cold like England.
"That gives a player all the motivation he needs to train and play."
