IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER
Speaking to the official magazine of the Dutch club, Ruud said that he would consider returning to his former club once his United career is over.
These quotes were taken up by the English media, who made out that he wants to return to Holland at the end of his three-year United contract.
Ruud wishes to make it clear that he is loving his time here at United, and wants to see out his career at Old Trafford.
Incidentally this was published before most of the Sunday papers quoted Ruud on wanting to leave. This is what Ruud allegedly said, from the Mirror.
"I want to return to PSV in 2005, to be captain and to go for European prizes.
"Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my life in Manchester and there is still unfinished business here for me. I want to win trophies and to be a success with United.
"That is very important to me. I feel I am playing well and I am scoring goals, but I came here to win medals.
"I have a career plan and, if it goes according to how I want it, that means there will be no more clubs between United and going back to PSV."
"I love playing for Manchester United but I also have a lot of feeling for PSV. I hope to achieve great things in England but I think going back to Holland to score goals for PSV would be the perfect end to my career."
