In an exclusive interview with The Sun Roy Keane has hit back at the people saying he is past it.

Keane said: "People are saying I'm not the player I was and I'm finished with football.

"I've been a professional for 13 years and had a lot of pats on the back but this is the worst criticism I have had in my career.

"I have not played as well as I can but I am not playing as badly as some are suggesting.

"I am more than confidant I will be as good as ever and playing at the top level for another three years.

"Please God, I have three years left at Manchester United but if not I still think I will be playing at the top level somewhere."

"I feel I am a lot better player than I was a couple of years ago, though I may not be playing as well at the moment.

"People look to me dominating games. But I may not get back to that because the standard of players I am coming up against now is so much better so I have had to change my style of play.

The changing of Roy Keane

"When I came to United I had many an argument with the manager about my lifestyle.

"About two or three years ago I realised I had to change things.

"I was 28 and I realised that if I carried on the way I was going I would not be playing for Manchester United into my 30s.

"My body fat used to be sky high. Now it is not. I never used to stretch or do weights but it is part of my regime now.
