From Sunday Mirror:
'Coronation Street star Nikki Sanderson is dating Manchester United player Paul Tierney after splitting with her long-term lover. The 20-year-old, who plays Street babe Candice, had been caught by Jamie Meakin late at night with footballer Paul, 22, who is also his close pal. But she told her boyfriend they had only been playing Monopoly.
After a string of rows shop manager Jamie, 25, and the actress split. Jamie discovered the friendship when he phoned Nikki at the £250,000 detached home they shared in Bury, Greater Manchester, while he was in Amsterdam on a stag trip.
A friend said: "He called Nikki at about 2am and could hear Paul in the background. Jamie asked her what Tierney was doing there and she said they'd been playing Monopoly.
"Jamie went ballistic. He was pretty sure that they wouldn't be playing board games at that time in the morning. As soon as he got back he challenged both Nikki and Tierney about it but they both claimed it was innocent. "Nikki was really angry with Jamie for questioning them."
Jamie became even more suspicious when he found out that Nikki had been going to watch Tierney train.
Our source added: "He asked her why she was going and she didn't really have an excuse. The rows about Tierney grew and grew and in the end it's what finished them off. Jamie's friends all told him it didn't seem normal that Tierney and Nikki were seeing so much of each other. But he believes every word Nikki tells him though and he was so much in love that he had no reason to doubt her. This is the first time Jamie has really been in love and he believed that Nikki loved him enough not to lie to him."
"He still speaks to Nikki almost every day on the phone and he just hopes that she will come back to him."
