"The day I got the punishment I was really bitter, angry and upset.
"If someone had asked me that day, or the day after, whether I would play for England again, I would have said no.
"But as time passes, you come to your senses. I am not the first person to feel like I did about your national association and you have to remind yourself that every kid in the world wants to play football for their country.
"To not have done so would have been disrespectful and now I want to carry on playing for England for as long as possible."
