I BELIEVE IN FATHER CHRISTMAS

Reserve team news from TeamTalk:

Diego Forlan's opener and a brace from Daniel Nardiello gave a young Manchester United reserve team a 3-0 win over Birmingham on Thursday.

Forlan struck in the first half to put United on the way to victory against Blues in the FA Premier Reserve League (North). It was the Uruguay international striker's fifth goal in two games for the second string.

One of the stars of the show at Altrincham's Moss Lane ground was 17-year-old midfielder Kieran Richardson, who looks to be another great talent about to roll off the United production line.

Birmingham bossed the opening third of the game but Spanish keeper Ricardo pulled off numerous saves to deny them the lead.

But when Nardiello passed across goal for Forlan to tap in the first, United were on their way and the second came six minutes after the restart with Nardiello beating two Blues defenders before firing past Ian Bennett.

Defender Olivier Tebily then pushed Nardiello over in the box on 72 minutes, with the Coventry-born 19-year-old scoring from the spot to round off the evening.

Manchester United Res: Ricardo; Lynch, Tate, May, Rankin; Chadwick (Timm 64), Pugh, Richardson, Fortune (Fox 77); Nardiello, Forlan (Johnson 64).
Subs: Roche, B Williams

If I'm not mistaken that's two games on the bounce. Just shows, with a little faith, anything can happen. Now how about a bet on the Arse to get slapped at some stage?
