From the Mirror:
HIM AGAIN
Rio Ferdinad has revealed the reason behind England's recent shambolic displays: David Beckham's terrible taste in music.
Sven Goran Eriksson has been blamed for the national side's dire performances in their defeats to Denmark and Northern Ireland.
But Ferdinand claims the real culprit is Beckham's CD collection, which he says is even duller than Eriksson's team talks.
Not only does Eriksson mould his team around the England skipper, he also lets him pick the dressing room music.
According to Ferdy the England skipper likes to play the likes of James Blunt and Robbie Williams in the dressing room before games. Their mellow tones are putting the players to sleep, so it's little wonder they have been playing like zombies when they get out on the pitch.
“It's strange, but we never have music at United. We have plenty in the England dressing room though - Robbie Williams, James Blunt and a bit of R&B.
“Becks is the only one who has ever bothered to put a CD together so you can't knock him for that, but it's not my cup of tea.
“If it was down to me it would be raw, hard hip-hop or garage - something a bit more aggressive to get everybody going.
“I'm going to have to make one of my own - we need some rawness in that changing room.”
Presumably Rio thinks sort of thing is more suited:
