HIGH PRIEST OF BOREDOM ‘NOT SACKED'
“Newspaper reports claiming United's assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has been ‘axed from giving out orders from the touchline’ are described as ‘absolute rubbish’ by the club.
“Mike Phelan was seen giving out orders to players from the touchline against Chelsea on Sunday whilst Queiroz accompanied Sir Alex Ferguson in the dug-out.
“The Sun newspaper subsequently took this to mean he had been prevented from giving instructions to players by the United manager, a claim the club have strongly denied.
“A club spokesman told ManUtd.com: ‘This story is absolute rubbish. Carlos is an essential member of our coaching staff and remains central to our plans as we seek to build on the success of Sunday's result.’”
