Freddie Ljungberg faces a race against time to be fit for the FA Cup final after injuring his ankle in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Bolton on Saturday.

The Swedish international was taken off at the Reebok Stadium after a tackle by Wanderers' Nigerian international Jay-Jay Okocha.

Arsenal feared that Ljungberg had broken his ankle but though those fears have been allayed, the midfielder is expected to miss the rest of the Premiership campaign.

Right back Lauren also suffered ankle ligament damage at Bolton as Arsenal's injury problems mounted. The Cameroon international is another doubt for the FA Cup final.
