Giggs is now 37 and has made more appearances for United than any other player and after making eight appearances this season scoring two goals along the way, he is showing no signs of going into retirement.
In recent years the Welsh winger has signed a succession of one-year contracts and with his latest deal set to expire in June, Giggs admits he is eager to keep on going for at least another year.
"After Christmas I will go to [Sir Alex] Ferguson's office and we'll talk about my renewal," said Giggs.
"I have a wonderful relationship with him. He's an exceptional person. He is always the first to arrive in the morning and is always willing to listen.
"I have spoken to him for a few minutes about extending my contract for another year.
"I want to play again, I care for nothing more than playing for my team."
