''I have had dips in form before but this was probably the longest. I knew I
could come back playing well and it was just a matter of time but the gaffer
rested me a few times before Christmas and that was probably the right
decision.''
''I have played more games this year than I have for a number of seasons and
I feel a lot fresher for the break, especially after not playing so well. It gives
you an extra yard of strength and speed. The past couple of games have
been enjoyable whereas before that perhaps I wasn't enjoying it as much as I
used to.''
''I am really pleased with the two goals. It adds to the confidence and
hopefully now I can enjoy a run of good form.''
Speaking before the FA Cup draw, he also had this to say:
''The FA Cup is quite open this year. There are a lot of good First Division
teams who can quite easily beat Premiership sides. But the fans and club
deserve a run and we have to keep doing what we have in the Worthington
Cup.''
''We are winning matches now and that breeds a confidence that we can take
into the Premiership and Champions League. The injury situation at the club
has been well-documented but now everyone is back and it is looking good
for us again"
"We played some good stuff in the first half against West Ham and once we
got the two quick goals after half-time, there was no way they could come
back. It's probably the first time this season we have been able to relax
because we seemed to have chased so many games lately and scored so
many later goals.''
