"It was important that we started off well and we did that,"

"We hunted the ball down and never gave them any time on the ball. The goal
helped with Ruud getting it so early and then from that we were able to play
our normal football.

"The only way was to hit them hard and early. We didn't want to give them
any comfortable possession. We wanted to make sure we harried and hurried
them everywhere and never let them settle on the ball.

"We knew we had to improve from Hungary. We knew we didn't play very well
over there and we knew we could play a lot better.

"We were hurt by the criticism after the match in Budapest. You are always
hurt when you are criticised because we are human. But we knew we could
turn it around with a lot of hard work.

"We knew that ability-wise we were better than them and we had to work
harder and convert the chances. We hunted them down early and the later
our ability and class showed.

"I never had any serious fears we'd miss out on the Champions League. With
the ability we have in the side, the amount of chances we create and the
number of players who can put the ball in the back of the net I think we were
always confident of turning it around.
