Ryan Giggs has said that United need to bounce back and beat City after the disappointment of Wednesday:
"I don't think we froze. I just think we had a bad start and never recovered. Now we want to finish off the season on a high by winning the league and the cup."
"We cannot feel sorry for ourselves," said Giggs.
"Of course, as soon as the final whistle goes you are really disappointed. But we also have to remember we still have so much to go for this season.
"Yes, we are greedy. We wanted to win everything this season. Now we are out of the Champions League, we have to try and win the double."
Ferguson also believes the focus must be switched immediately
"You have to put disappointment behind you," he told Sky Sports News. "We have handled it in the past and I am sure they will handle it on Saturday.
"It is a big game and we can win the title at the weekend. That's the incentive."
He also had a dig at the Premier League and City.
"What we have to do is make sure they recover," he added. "We are not being helped by the Premier League making it a 12.45pm kick off, but we will be there on Saturday.
"Louis Saha has come through and may start and Rio Ferdinand could be okay by Saturday."
