Gascoigne who was in Manchester promoting his book is speaking from bitter experience.
"He has everything else, the money, the beautiful girlfriend, a supportive family and Sir Alex as a manager. He needs to be careful, but everyone else needs to give the lad a bit of a break, let him enjoy his life and enjoy his football.
"You have seen my life, and I didn't cope with it to the best of my ability.
"I wouldn't say he is going to be the next Gazza, as some people do - he has a settled life and someone who has loved him since childhood.
"If the media get behind the players next year in Germany we will have a chance of winning. Let them concentrate and England can win it."
