"I thought I was in serious trouble when the gas got in my eyes.
"At one point I couldn't see what was happening and I shouted to the bench that maybe Tomasz Kuszczak should warm up.
"To be honest, I didn't realise what was happening at first. I broke my nose quite badly against Tottenham a few weeks ago and thought it had something to do with the concussion I suffered then.
"It felt just like the headaches I was getting after suffering that injury.
"Then I realised it was the gas. I had a quick look around to see what the commotion was but I didn't realise they had sprayed anything at the fans until I felt it get in my eyes."
