"I have had insults hurled at me from the stands, cries from angry supporters that make me feel sick.
"My religion helps me face up to these situations. I now know that those supporters are the weak ones.
"You're better off just laughing at their stupidity than responding to their insults.
"But being called a ‘dirty black' is not nice for anybody to hear.
"The best solution is to get on with your life without fuss. That's what I prefer. I'm only breaking my silence now because of some of the things that have been said.
"Yes, I am a Muslim — and a lot of people have made a big deal of it — but I feel no need to tell everybody.
"I've heard people say religion causes problems — that annoys me. How can it? It's not an illness, a disease. It has never prevented me from performing my best — on the contrary, it has helped me become stronger to deal with the idiots.
"My beliefs help me live a better life, to be at one with myself. My philosophy has always been that you can be on top of the world one day and at the bottom the other. You have to have the strength to accept that fate.
"But let me reassure you — I am perfectly normal."
Hmmmm.
