FROM ONE OWEN TO ANOTHER

United have again been linked with Newcastle's Michael Owen. This time the Sun claims United will offer Alan Smith plus 4 million. Owen has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave and manager Sam Allardyce seems quite concerned about it.

"I want to plan for Owen and Martins to start the season.

"But at some point between now and the end of August, I might lose those types of players. That would be a massive blow."
