Tony Coton:
"This is important to Ben as part of his progress.
"When we send players out on loan we like to send them somewhere as high as possible. But for Watford to do so well has been a bonus. It has worked out better than we could have expected. He has done exceptionally well.
"I didn't know Adie Boothroyd, the Watford boss, but one of our coaches at Carrington, Richard Hartis, knew him at Leeds and he said he'd be very thorough. He has been exactly right.
"I have managed to get to see Ben in action live six times this season but I have actually watched every single game he has played.
"Regular as clockwork, Adie has sent us all the DVD's of Watford's matches and he has sent us three-monthly reports on his progress.
"He has been very pro-active in that. He hasn't just written about how his form has been but has also told us how he interacts about the club, the community work he has been doing. He even tells us if Ben has been late for anything!
"Watford's goalkeeper coach Alec Chamberlain has also been up to Carrington to run through films of our goalkeeper training sessions so he knows what to do with Ben.
"It has been great. Ben has got lots of potential. He has a great physique and his distribution is second to none. He has a great right arm and an unbelievable left foot.
"I reckon about 60 per cent of Watford's goals this season have come from Ben's assists."
* He plays in Watford's play-off with Leeds today.
