From the MEN:
Alex Ferguson is convinced it will be another two seasons before Manchester United see the best of Darren Fletcher.
FLETCHER IS GREAT
The United manager kept faith with the young Scotland midfielder earlier in the campaign when his performances were being heavily criticised. He has been rewarded with a marked improvement over the past couple of months.
Fergie said:
“Not many young players can battle back from two years out with injury like Darren has done.
“Most would fall behind but he has shown such great determination and the great thing is he is only 21 and still maturing.
“I still believe he has a lot of strength to get. He is still a bit gangly and a bit coltish but in two years' time, he will be much stronger.”
[In two years’ time eh? Another Fergie prediction for the medium term future, instead of the here and now. Eventually people may just stop believing such guff.]
