The Guardian report:
FIFA HAPPY WITH RIO BAN
‘Fifa has effectively confirmed that its president Sepp
Blatter is satisfied with the eight-month ban given to Rio
Ferdinand for missing a drug test and will not seek to
increase the sentence.
‘Fifa is awaiting paperwork from the Football Association
about the case and cannot make a formal decision until it
has seen those details, but the spokesman said: "I don't
think president Blatter will make a statement about it. He
said he is happy that the case has been resolved. He was not
happy because it was taking a long time.’
