FERGUSON REFUSES TO BE DOWNBEAT

"I think we got anxious in the second half, they were desperate to win it and when you got the chances we had after we equalised, I thought we'd win it.

"I thought we deserved to win the game with the chances we had. But their keeper was magnificent. That happens sometimes when keepers come to Old Trafford — they get inspired.


"When we scored three against Portsmouth last week we thought it would help us but we made chances and with a little bit more composure we would have done better."

“When you drop points it never helps you. You need a consistency that goes right through the season but this was a setback.

“I thought we had a clear penalty in the second half but we were never going to get one off Rob Styles — no chance.”

United face Wigan, Aston Villa, West Brom, Birmingham and Bolton before the end of the month, games which Ferguson believes they are capable of winning.
