For what it's worth here's Tommy Docherty's view on how Ronaldo is an
excellent replacement for Liar23.
FERGIE WAS RIGHT
"I must admit that wasn't so sure at the time, but there is no doubt Sir Alex
was right," Docherty said.
"I had George Best and Willie Morgan in my squad when I was at Old Trafford
and brought Steve Coppell and Gordon Hill to the club. I played with Tom
Finney and when I was Scotland manager I had players like Eddie Gray and
Peter Lorimer.
"I have already seen enough of young Ronaldo to convince me that he is in
the same bracket as they were. He is as good as any of them and they were
all outstanding wingers.
"Two years from now he will be formidable. I am not saying he is at the top
now, but by the time he is 21 he could be the finished article.
"He may have cost £12.5m, and when he came one or two people were
saying it was a lot of money, but United paid half of the fee they got for
Beckham and for me he is a better player than David," he added.
