“Fergie's a god at United. He can't be faulted for what he's done and all the supporters recognise it — that's why he's been there for so long. I can't see anybody getting rid of Alex until he decides it's time to leave.

“Directors and board members have tried to move him on but Fergie will have the final say because of the support he has from the fans.

“The supporters will always look back at his record and there is no doubt that he has been so, so good for United.

“Without a doubt, United can win the title this season. They're doing really well and the football they're playing can't be faulted.

“Fergie can be a bit of a bully but in football you need to be — that's why I'd never make it as a manager.”
