FERGIE SAYS EVEN HE CANNOT STOP CHELSEA

"Chelsea's form has been great.

"There is no point in saying this is going to happen, or that is going to happen - they are, without question, in championship form. It frustrates me, because we have done the best we can, and the big games coming up will keep us going that way."

We have to maintain ourselves in the cup, because at Manchester United it is important we win a trophy anyway," he said.

"I have never been greedy that way, and have always said that if we get a trophy every year I will be delighted, because there are a lot of teams competing for the same things and we have no divine right to win the trophy we want to win.

"We have been incredibly successful in a 15-year period at bringing trophies here.

"At the moment we are showing championship form in our league performances but unfortunately Chelsea are, without question, in championship form, and with their 11-point advantage it is a hell of a task.

"There is no sign of them slipping up. Because of that, we turn our intention to our form, which has to be maintained.

"We have a semi-final second leg against Chelsea, an FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough, an Arsenal game, the Manchester derby, then AC Milan.

"It is a fantastic time for us and with the squad being as strong as it is now I can make the relevant changes to keep freshness in order to cope with all the games that are coming up in the next few weeks.

'There's a confidence about him (Mourinho) that has seeped right into his team, I've been very impressed.

'"here's a wit and humour about him too that I like. He's got his team in full flow - I thought they might slip up at Tottenham last week but they didn't - and there's not much I can say that would help to derail them. Their form has been fantastic. Even my powers will not stop them.

"'With eight clean sheets there's no question we are showing championship form, but so are Chelsea,' he said. 'They look invincible, probably the best they've ever been in the history of Chelsea. With two good defending teams protecting their records I wouldn't be surprised if Wednesday went to extra time and penalties. The game has 0-0 written right across it."
