"The Tevez deal is still not completed," said Fergie. "We know he's our player, it's just a matter of getting clearance from the Premier League.
"Understandably, the Premier League and the FA will want to scrutinise every detail of the transfer. But I'm happy with that, because then we're getting the player and we know that it is in the right circumstances and everything has been clarified and cleared by the appropriate authorities.
"Carlos surprised us in the training sessions last week. After the Copa America, and with only a short holiday, I thought he might need more training. But he did very well and looked in great shape.
"But, even if the deal was to go through in time for him to play on Sunday, I don't think I would use him. He's more likely to be involved the following week against Manchester City."
