As we reported on Monday, UEFA's Control and Disciplinary
Body meet today in Switzerland to rule on 40 cases of
misconduct. Amongst those is the charge against Fergie for
alleging that the draw for the Champions League quarter
finals was fixed. He said at the time:
FERGIE FACES A FINE
"Real Madrid - they have a nice draw, they must have picked
it themselves. The Spanish or Italian teams don't play each
other, how do you think they work that out? They don't want
us in the final, that's for sure, but I'm not listening."

us in the final, that's for sure, but I'm not listening."
After pressure from UEFA, Sir Alex did retract the
allegations saying:

“"I have been assured by UEFA that the draw was fair. I take
their word for it, so I was wrong to say what I did."

But the damage had already been done and he will most likely
face a fine after today’s proceedings.
Another matter that the body will take up today are several
charges resulting from the recent match between England and
Turkey; these include allegations of racial abuse, pitch
incursions and improper conduct of players and officials in
the tunnel after the game.
