Nemanja Vidic is expected back in the UK to face Bolton on Saturday, despite Serbia being scheduled to play against Kazakhstan the same day. The European Championships qualifier has been postponed twice due to heavy snow in Belgrade, and will now be played on Saturday. As this date is not assigned for international duty, Uefa have confirmed that Serbia have no right to keep Vidic in the squad.
This may all be academic anyway as Serbia have to beat Poland tomorrow evening and also need Finland to beat Portugal in Lisbon. Should the match against Kazakhstan become meaningless, as looks likely, it would appear to be a formality that Vidic will be back to play at the Reebok Stadium.
