The Russian side had held a two goal advantage going into the final ten minutes of the Champions League tie at Old Trafford on Tuesday night but goals from Paul Scholes and Antonia Valencia earned United a 3-3 draw and a place in the knockout stages of the competition.
"The chances we made you have to say their keeper has made some fantastic saves," the United boss said after the match.
"We lost three goals at home and you don't like that.
"The third one after half time was a surprise and that them something to hold on to.
"I thought the intensity of our play, particularly in the last 25 minutes, was terrific."
"I don't know how many chances we did create, but it's something about United, just the history.
"We went for it and risked everything to get the result.
"I think we deserved it.
"If you want excitement then come to Old Trafford. One of the great pleasures about being the manager here is when you gat finishes like that."
