"He just gives examples of other sports people who've been very successful - a certain mentality they've had. People like Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.
"That's what we need to be successful. And that's what he's trying to bring to the England squad.
"You can go and see him as an individual, I do. When Glenn Hoddle brought Eileen Drewery in I thought it was a circus act and, maybe, it's a bad comparison.
"But I wasn't open-minded as a kid to think like that, I just thought I'd go out there and play.
"But later on I got more experienced and a bit wiser, and I was open to suggestions."
