Almost 900 players applied to take part in the trails with 200 making it through to the day itself.
FC United manager Karl Marginson and his coaching staff ran their eye over the trailists drawing up a list of those that they wish to invite down to the club’s first training session this week.
‘The day has been a great success,’ said assistant manager Phil Power, ‘we have a number of players here who we will be inviting down to training.’
The successful trailists will be joining the players that Marginson and his staff have already selected through their knowledge of the local non-league scene. Marginson is confident that the squad he is putting together will be capable of getting the club off to a flying start.
The coaching staff and players will be working hard over the next three weeks to get ready for the friendlies against Leigh RMI and AFC Wimbledon with a couple of behind closed door matches planned to sharpen match fitness.
