Marginson, who will bring in former Macclesfield, Altrincham and England semi-professional international striker Phil Power as his assistant said the rebel club will be going all out for promotion.

Marginson himself:
"I loved the idea of FC United, being a United fan myself. I am from Ancoats and as a kid used to play on the pitch used by Newton Heath a hundred years before, so the thought of being in at the start of a bit of history is something special."
FC United spokesman Jules Spencer:
"Karl was the outstanding candidate. We consulted with AFC Wimbledon who said we needed someone who knows the game at that level. He fitted the criteria."
