The Sunday Telegraph:
The rest of Manchester United's players had long since disappeared into the bath and most of the 63,000 fans had left when David Beckham suddenly appeared at the mouth of the tunnel with his son, Brooklyn.
Before an audience of a few stragglers and amused security men, the pair, both dressed in United strip, ran to the Stretford End to take pot shots at goal with a plastic ball. They then raced the full length of the pitch to take shots at the other end.
It might just have been another example of Beckham's doting, if slightly dotty, ideas of fatherhood. But those witnessing the extraordinary performance after United's final home game of the season wondered whether it had much wider significance
Could England captain Beckham, who is reported to be considering a move abroad, have been enjoying a last, nostalgic kick around in the Theatre of Dreams?
