The Burscough and Burton had originally been scheduled to play their second round clash on Sunday but a waterlogged pitch meant the clash was postponed until Tuesday night.
UniBond Premier League side Burscough, who have never reached the latter stages of the FA Cup, are the lowest ranked team left in the competition and as such will be underdogs against Conference outfit Burton.
This season's third-round ties will take place over the weekend of 7/8 January.
United Reserves lost 2-1 at Burton Albion in last month's friendly to mark the opening of Burton's Pirelli Stadium.
Burton are in the bottom half of the Nationwide Conference. They have won five of their ten games at home this season, scoring 13 goals and conceding 14.
Burscough are fourth in the Unibond Premier division having won 11 of their 17 games this season.
Elsewhere City host Scunthorpe United, Liverpool travel to Luton.
Arsenal play Cardiff City and Chelsea are up against Huddersfield Town both the Premiership sides are at home.
