Ferdinand is still out with a hamstring injury and Wes Brown is suspended. Heinze and Keane are both sidelined with colds.
Giggs will be in the squad but Ferguson is not sure that he will play:
"Ryan is 50/50. He is much better and I will take him with me. Hopefully he'll be alright for the game."
At his pre-match press briefing Ferguson confirmed that everyone has been baffled by Gary Nev's absence:
"Gary is back fit and will play on Wednesday night, he's fine now and has had ten days training."
"It has been a surprise at how long it has taken for him to shake it off. Normally, the viruses the players have been getting in the last two months have been a two or three-day thing. Gary's came, went, came back again, went and came back again. It has persisted with the lad. But he has been back in training for ten days, we have done all the blood tests and checks. He's perfectly alright now."
