Carlos, referring to Liar23's claims about being unfit:
"During the last three weeks of the season, Beckham missed several training sessions for one reason or another. And some times for no reason at all.
"Figo never went skiing in the winter while his team was playing in the Champions League," said Queiroz.
"That's where the difference is.In the final analysis, one player comes through right to the end of the season and the other doesn't.
"The reason why Figo is in such great shape is because he always showed up to training
sessions and never complained. Perhaps that’s why one of them is in the Euro final while the other is making excuses.
"Beckham's declarations don't surprise me at all, he's always got a personal excuse to hand.
"When things didn't go well at the World Cup and Euro 2004 he always had an excuse.
"I'm not hurt by what David said, but the reality is there for all to see."
Talking about what he would have done differently at Madrid he said: "I would have brought in another defender. I wanted Ricardo Carvalho in January but upper management did not want to purchase a player who would be unable to play for us in the Champions League.
"He is such a composed defender. We faced Porto twice in the group stage and both times he was the best player on the pitch.
"I have already recommended him here (at O.T.) but we are not the only team interested in him and it could be very difficult to bring him here," added Queiroz.
