With all the teams above them also winning Depor remain in fourth place. Radi Antic even managed to inspire Barca to a four nil home win over Betis with goals coming from Cocu and a hatrick from Saviola.
Basel emerged from their winter break to knock second division side Yverdon out of the Swiss Cup. Cantaluppi (2) and Atouba were the scorers and Cristian Gross’s side will face Servette Geneva in the next round.
