ESCUDE STILL HOPEFUL

United target Jean Escude is insisting his move to Old Trafford is not over.
Reports suggest that last night's qualification could earn United as much as
£45 million so perhaps there is still hope for him.

He said:

My agents are working for me right now."

A Rennes spokesman said:

"There was no more money, so there is no agreement.

Maybe there will be another meeting at some point but at the moment nothing
has been arranged. We will wait to see what Manchester United do now."

After the Zala game Fergie spoke about possible transfers:

'We have tried already, but haven't been successful with players,' he said.
'We'll keep on trying, but with only two or three days to go it's getting late.'
