Erik ten Hag has admitted that Manchester United have missed Aaron Wan-Bissaka this season.
Since taking over in the summer, the Dutchman has played barely played Wan-Bissaka, with the right-back getting just four minutes of playing time under his belt prior to Man Utd's Carabao Cup win over Burnley on Wednesday night.
Ten Hag gave him his first start of the season in that match and he made the most of his chance, getting an excellent assist with Christian Eriksen turning in his acrobatic cross.
Speaking post-match, Ten Hag admitted that his team have missed Wan-Bissaka so far this campaign.
"All players are important but sure [Aaron did well]," said the manager.
"Aaron, we missed him in the first 14 games of the Premier League and we need numbers in the squad but not only numbers, they have to play well and they have to perform.
"He had good preparation for the second half of the season so he's ready to play and he did quite well today."
90min reported prior to Wednesday's win that Crystal Palace were hopeful of re-signing Wan-Bissaka on an initial loan, with Wolves and West Ham also interested in his services.
