The Sun reported a couple of days ago that Eric Cantona toyed with the idea of a comeback this season, "It was six months ago I realised even by training for eight solid weeks my dream of returning wasn't possible." Cantona is quoted as saying. "What I discovered was that I didn't have the fire any more."
Eric also spoke of his reasons for leaving United in 1997, "If we had won the European Cup I might have continued but I was fed up. There was too much merchandising, too much of 'We need you for this interview, this book'. Those things destroyed me, it's sad."
