The Guardian reports that Graham Bean, the man investigating
the dodgy dealings in English football, is so disillusioned
with the FA that he is considering resigning.
He is currently investigating John Gregory’s time at Aston
Villa but feels that the FA do not give him enough support.
He also worries that the FA are unwilling to follow up on
his reports.
Bean himself is quoted as saying: "English football is
bent." He is said to feel "over-worked and
underappreciated", more so because when he does uncover
wrongdoing, the punishments are, in his opinion, too
lenient.
He spent months investigating financial irregularities at
Boston last summer and was apparently furious when the
Conference champions were docked five points rather than
being denied entry to the Football League.
