"It's a special moment for us because we've had an up and down season. It gives a real good memory to go into next season," said the Scouse-hater.
"We have suffered at times this season and we underachieved in the Champions' League against Porto and we have been on the end of an amazing run by Arsenal in the championship.
"But we have picked something out of the campaign and that's a sign of determination. We showed that in the semi versus Arsenal.
"We were playing against an unbeatable team at that stage and they were fantastic and on a great run of form.
"We have not reached our peak in the championship and Europe this season but we have still got a medal round our necks.
"We have something to show for the season and any other club would be delighted to be in our position having won the FA Cup."
