Wigan want the 24 year old on a loan spell as they try to get themselves away from the relegation zone, the player himself has admitted that he could be tempted by the short trek.
Diouf has found it hard to get into and maintain a regular place in the United first team so another loan spell could be the answer once again.
Last season he went to Blackburn and although he made 27 first team appearances, he only managed to find the net three times. But that was in a poor side.
If tempted to make the move, Diouff feels that this would be the ideal way of making the United manager sit up and take notice.
"It is an option at the moment and a good one. I want to go and play week in, week out and try to impress Sir Alex Ferguson," he told skysports.com.
"If I can finish the season strongly, I can challenge for a position next season like Danny [Welbeck] has done this season.
"Wigan could be a key for me. I have done okay for Blackburn, but need to do well on my next loan. There are other teams interested as well."
