A Vietnamese man stabbed his wife to death after an argument over his loss of nearly $10,000 in bets on Euro 2004 soccer matches.
Police in the central city of Vinh, about 300 km (185 miles) south of the capital Hanoi, arrested the 64-year-old man last Thursday and charged him with murder of his wife.
Per capita income in Vietnam is only about $400 a year and though illegal betting on football is widely popular in Vietnam.
