David Moyes First Job Help Wayne Rooney Pack

David Moyes arrived this morning at Manchester United?s Carrington Training Facility to start his tenure as United?s new manager. Though Moyes has not officially taken charge, Everton has given permission for him to start his transition to the new job.

Moyes was there to take a tour, meet United staff members and coaching staff. Moyes has several decisions to make in the next couple of weeks on his coaching staff and players he plans to keep and those he needs to send on their way.

None is bigger than want away striker Wayne Rooney. Rooney was absent from Sir Alex Ferguson?s last game as manager and was not in the ?right frame of mind? for the last home match. It was reported that Rooney had been given permission to stay at home and be with his wife since she is close to giving birth to their second child. Could there be more to the story?

Over the last few weeks, Rooney has shown his true colors and his disrespect for the man who made him into a superstar. Instead of waiting until the end of the season, Rooney decided to put his needs front and center by trying to rain on the parade. It shows a lack of class and character on his part and Moyes should deal with him as soon as possible.

Losing Rooney will not be as big a hit as some believe; Rooney has not been the player he once was over the last couple of years. David Moyes already has enough on his plate and does not need the distraction of Rooney and his ?It?s all about me? attitude disrupting the club. There are a few world class strikers that will be available in this summer?s transfer market. United should have very little trouble replacing Rooney with someone that puts the club before his own selfish needs.
