HERO skipper David Beckham is to get an OBE in the Queen's New Year's
Honours list after his stirring efforts.
MPs welcomed the move to honour Beckham last night. Labour MP for Oldham
Phil Woolas said: "He is a fantastic ambassador for Britain and the best role
model for young men.
"He combines street cred with great decency and puts boring politicians like me
in the shade."
Government whip Gerry Sutcliffe, skipper of the House of Commons soccer
team, added: "Beckham has matured and led the team well."
