CHELSEA soccer boss Ken Bates was behind death threats received by an employee, a tribunal heard yesterday.

David Betteridge, 43, said he was once stabbed on his doorstep by a man who told him he had “a message from Chelsea”.
The catering manager said he was threatened after blowing the whistle on a major drugs and corruption scandal at the West London club.
In a dramatic outburst, he said: “Whether I will be alive on Friday still is a different matter because you do not go up against Chelsea and Ken Bates.”
Mr Betteridge claims Mr Bates was part of a plot to frame him after he lifted the lid on cocaine dealing at Stamford Bridge.
