Cristiano Ronaldo missed Manchester United's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City last week with a hip flexor injury.
The former Real Madrid forward opted to return to Portugal instead of travel with his teammates to the Etihad and there remain doubts over whether he will be fit to face Tottenham on Saturday.
How long is Cristiano Ronaldo out for?
Ronaldo was absent for United's visit to City at the weekend, with manager Ralf Rangnick opting to play Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba up front.
He last played in the goalless draw with Watford back in February and has struggled for form so far in 2022, netting just once in a 2-0 victory over Brighton.
There have been rumours of discontent in the United camp, with Ronaldo reportedly involved in a leadership dispute in the Old Trafford dressing room. There has also been talk of a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo be fit for Tottenham?
Right now, Ronaldo's availability is uncertain. He was spotted at United's Carrington's training ground but he did not participate in training with his teammates on Thursday morning due to his hip flexor injury. The problem kept him out of two games back in January - both against Aston Villa.
He did, however, post a brief update on his Instagram account, revealing: "Hard work towards a strong recovery. Eager to get back on the pitch and help the team."
What has Ralf Rangnick said about Cristiano Ronaldo's injury?
After the defeat to City, Rangnick said: "I have to believe my medical department.
"My doctor came to see me on Friday morning before training and told me Cristiano Ronaldo cannot train because of some problems with his hip flexor and the same was true on Saturday and that's why he couldn't be part of the squad."
