Insiders believe some differences of opinion have been simmering between thetwo for weeks and just came to the boil on the eve of the big game. Cole yelled at Souness and the tough Scot sent him to the dressing-room in front of his shocked team-mates. The former Manchester United star later drove off. But Souness tried to contact Cole - through his pal Dwight Yorke - with the option to find a way back into the team for yesterday. However, Cole does not feel he was in the wrong and did not reply... so the Arsenal game started without him. And now the future looks cloudy. The pair are not set to meet again untiltraining tomorrow.
