CHOCCY JOINS IN THE FUN

In his column on the 4 The Game website he said:

“This is the time of season when managers, coaches and
players are looking for a reward as confirmation that all
the hard work they have put in has been worthwhile.

“It is not the time to suffer any loss of faith or
confidence or form yet the vibes we are receiving from
Highbury suggest amazingly that all may not be well, that
there are indeed doubts fermenting in a few minds.

“Wasn't it odd that the club should be talking about their
concerns over FA Cup replays at a time when they were about
to face one against Chelsea. Highbury director David Dein
made the point publicly, quickly countered it has to be
said, by manager Arsene Wenger. But the damage was done.

“It at least suggested to outsiders, rightly or wrongly,
that there were fears from within Highbury that their
players were not up to the demands of the job.

“No more than a perception of trouble looming, but it told
their opponents, all of us, that maybe something really was
worrying them.

“This is the sort of psychological edge you dare not hand
over to the teams you have to play against and it may indeed
have not only contributed to a loss of Arsenal's own form
but helped strengthen the self belief of the opposition.

“They cannot afford to show what will be perceived as their
own concern whether it be from the dressing room or the
boardroom.”
